Au Pair Information

An Au Pair is a young person (aged 18-30yo) on a visa who lives-in with a family to take care of their children in return for free board and a weekly wage. Au Pairs are a very popular child care option in Northern America European countries and the UK. More and more New Zealand parents and families are choosing an Au Pair for their childcare needs. For the same price as daycare, New Zealand Nannies International can provide you with home-based child care:

  • It is quality care: Your children benefit from being cared for in their own home and the one-on-one attention the Au Pair gives them
  • It works to your schedule: The Au Pair's ability to be flexible with her hours means that they can be worked (and changed) to suit your needs and preferences, and can include a few nights babysitting in the evening and weekend work where necessary
  • It is quality education: Your Au Pair receives an Early Childhood Educator to work alongside them and your child under 5 so that they receive an education that is tailor-made for your child's developmental stage and their unique strengths*
  • It is quality support: Both you and your Au Pair receive ongoing support and contact from our team of experts, as well as regular newsletters packed with resources and information, and nanny coffee groups and events are held regularly, where your children can socialize with others
  • It is affordable: It costs $180 NZD + GST to register your vacancy with New Zealand Nannies International, which is non-refundable. Once you have found an Au Pair through our agency, and her employment with you has commenced, the cost is just $200-250 per week including all agency fees - there are no hidden costs!

 

Once your registration fee is paid, your vacancy is listed on our website immediately. Our team will then start advertising your position and recruiting suitable Au Pairs on your behalf from around the world. You also have full access to our Au Pairs profiles including their photograph, police check, first aid certificate, any relevant qualifications and reference checks.

As soon as you have chosen a suitable Au Pair from our selection, we arrange for you to conduct a telephone interview with them and then assist the Au Pair every step of the way until they arrive in New Zealand ready to join your family.
