Nanny/Au Pair Information (Non-NZ Residents)

In order to be an Au Pair with New Zealand Nannies International on a Working Holiday visa (where you can work up to fulltime hours and stay between 6-23mths in NZ), you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Aged between 18 and 30 years
  • In good health without any chronic medical conditions
  • Be of good character (eg. proof of a clean police record)
  • A citizen of one of the following countries: Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, UK, USA, Uraguay, France, Hong Kong, Ireland, Korea, Malaysia, Malta, Taiwan or Thailand

In order to work as an Au Pair on a Student Visa (can work up to 20hrs/week in exchange for free board), the following criteria is required:

  • Proof of a placement offer from a New Zealand university (that meets NZQA standards)
  • Proof of paid course fees
  • Good health and character (as above)
  • Must leave NZ when your course finishes however application for another visa is an option
